Brown Sugar Chocolate Cake

I really had no idea I’ll get so many requests for this one but honestly, these requests make me so overwhelmed! 😍 It’s just a normal chocolate cake in which I’ve replaced sugar with brown sugar which I personally feel enhances the flavour. The recipe is really easy with simple ingredients and less hassle. It is soft, moist and dense without being dry or crumbly which is the best part. Perfect for tea time! ☕

Ingredients:

1-3/4 cup All-purpose Flour

1-1/2 tsp Baking powder

1-1/2 tsp Baking Soda

1/2 tsp Salt

1/4 cup Water

1/2 Cup Oil

1 cup Brown Sugar

1 cup Caster Sugar

1/2 cup Cocoa Powder

2 Eggs

1 cup Milk

2 tsp Vanilla Essence

Method:

  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Mix all the dry ingredients, sift them and keep them aside.
  • Beat eggs, caster sugar, brown sugar and vanilla essence until light and fluffy.
  • Add oil and give it another whisk so as to make sure the consistency is airy.
  • Now, gradually start adding the dry ingredients and milk and keep mixing it with spatula.
  • Once you’re done adding all the ingredients, give it one last whisk with the beater for 10-15 seconds so that the batter is smooth. (Note: The batter is runny)
  • Add it in your greased cake pans or foil trays and bake for 20-25 minutes until the toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let it cool, cut it into thin slices and serve it with evening tea 😉

This recipe makes 2 foil tins and rises pretty well. Do let me know if you enjoy it!
